How this calculation works
Each future annual amount is the starting charge multiplied by (1 + your percentage change / 100) raised to the number of years ahead. Annual outputs round to pennies; cumulative cost sums those rounded annual amounts.
The extra cost compares the projected years with paying the starting amount in every future year. It does not include the baseline year's bill. Negative assumptions illustrate reductions. No inflation, discounts, future legal limits or policy decisions are assumed.
